(BEST, Inc.) is a non-profit agency that administers federally-funded programs such as Workforce Investment Act (WIA) in Bureau, Carroll, Jo Daviess, LaSalle, Lee, Ogle, Putnam and Whiteside Counties. With offices in Peru, Oglesby, Ottawa, Dixon, Princeton, Sterling, Oregon, Galena and Mt. Carroll its focus is assisting adults and youth gain meaningful employment through training, job search assistance and work experience.

  • NCI Works is responsible for planning and coordinating the communities’ resources into a workforce development system.  This 47 member board is comprised of private sector employers as well as representatives from education, labor, and partnering public agencies from Bureau, Carroll, Jo Daviess, LaSalle, Lee, Ogle, Putnam and Whiteside Counties designated as Local Workforce Investment Area #4 (LWA #4.)
