    Reports To:  Vice President for Academic Affairs

    Salary Range:  Exempt, min. starting salary $76,466 annually based on qualifications and experience, excellent benefits package

    Position Summary:  Provides academic, budgetary, administrative, and managerial leadership to the division, and assists the Vice President for Academic Affairs in the academic, budgetary, administrative, and managerial leadership of the College.  Supervises faculty and staff including full-time and part-time faculty in the areas of Accounting, Agriculture, Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Criminal Justice, Economics, Geography, Geology, Health and Wellness, Marketing, Management, Mathematics, Microbiology, and Physics.  The Dean supports excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, and works collaboratively with other College leaders in creating and sustaining a culture that promotes student learning and responds to the needs of the Illinois Valley community.

    Qualifications:  1. Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in a discipline represented in the division required.  Doctoral degree preferred. 2. Teaching experience required.  Community college or university teaching experience preferred. 3. Experience in leading an academic unit or similar structure required. 4. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage faculty and staff, budgets required.  Development of programs or similar  processes preferred. 5. Broad knowledge of educational pedagogy and new methodologies, strategies, and tools, including technologies and multi-media that support engaged learning as well as the needs of underprepared students required. 6. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including record of effective teamwork and collaboration required. 8. Demonstrated experience with assessment of student learning and faculty development preferred.
