    Tannenbaum Fest with Sankt Nikolaus

‘Oh, Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree…’

The Hegeler Carus Mansion is all dressed up for the holidays. We are offering for the first time a unique extended holiday treat.

The Mansion will be decorated with enchanting Victorian flair you are accustomed to, plus we have invited local friends and businesses to join in this community building celebration. We have a few sponsorship opportunities left, contact us by November 1st to be a sponsor. Sponsors will decorate Christmas trees to be auctioned off at our Little Christmas Brunch and Silent Auction.

The Oh, Christmas Tree Tour is a guided 45-minute tour focusing on the Christmas traditions and history of Victorian and Gilded Age life. You will walk through Main Floor, plus some of the Hegeler and Carus living quarters on the Second Floor not shown on the General Tour, viewing the beautiful festive decorations and Christmas Trees. The Oh, Christmas Tree tour is $25/person and runs from November 7-December 21, 2024.

Sankt Nikolaus has confirmed he will make three special visits to the Mansion. You and your family will have the opportunity to take a photo with him. During his first visit to the Mansion on December 6th from 6-8pm (and if you’ve been good all year) you can have cookies and hot cocoa. He will return on Saturday December 7th and 21st from 10am-2pm for photos. Photo sessions are approximately 10-20 minutes and are $20/session.

The Little Christmas Brunch on December 14th 11am to 1pm, will feature an elaborately decorated Hegeler Carus Mansion, delicious Holiday brunch, Holiday music performed by Manderley Strings (violin/viola/cello trio), and a Christmas Tree Silent Auction. Christmas Trees, decorated by local sponsors, will be available for silent auction to adorn your home in the years to come. Tickets are $100/person (limited seating available).

Make this an annual tradition to celebrate the holidays by joining us for this inaugural event. If you’re seeking a place to immerse yourself in the wonder of the season, look no further!

The Hegeler Carus Mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, and designated a National Historic Landmark in 2007, a prestigious designation granted by the U.S. National Park Service. The Mansion is located at 1307 Seventh Street in LaSalle.
